The School of Information Technology established the Research Initiation Support and Promotion Section (RISP) in February 2008. The objectives of RISP are to support research initiation and to encourage any potential SIT staff members to develop IT-related research.
The duties of RISP are as follows:
- Establish research strategies to attract funding
- Determine the aims and directions of SIT research activities
- Establish research laboratories
- Support acquisition of necessary research equipment
- Encourage SIT staff members to submit a research proposal in order to obtain a KMUTT scholarship, Thai scholarship, or foreign scholarship
- Gather various funding sources of both Thai and foreign scholarships
- Store local and foreign publications database to support SIT research
- Promote students’ research achievements
- Promote research publications of SIT lecturers and researchers
- Publicize academic publications and/or other research achievements in various forms
- Organize national and international academic conferences
- Maintain a close research collaboration with local and international institutions
